Summary
The System Administrator will be responsible for the management, operation, maintenance, and support of Windows servers, laptops and desktops as directed by the IT Manager and CIO. This person will respond to server, storage, and network alarms and outages, dispatch to remote sites for troubleshooting and repairs as well as document network infrastructure, update and close trouble tickets, and document root cause of server, endpoint, and network issues. This Administrator will report to the IT Manager and CIO and will work closely with other members of the Internal IT team to support all technology at our corporate offices.

Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day administration and operational functions of the data center server environment
- Design, set up, configure, and troubleshoot Windows servers, Windows endpoints, and other peripheral components to support all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
- Maintain Microsoft and third-party patches and updates.
- Administer user access and security permissions. Grant and remove access for new employee onboarding and separated employee offboarding.
- Day-to-day monitoring of the server, endpoint, and network environment.
- Documentation of Procedures and Networking of server environments (ensure that all network and server documentation is accurate and up to date)
- Document issue resolution using the helpdesk ticketing system
- Submit Request for Change forms when needed. Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings
- Install and configure hardware, and software and load new applications as needed
- Maintain excellent communication with all end-users and other members of the technology department
- Assist other team members in executing various project tasks.
- Work independently to execute project tasks.
- Work with hardware break/fix vendor as needed.
- Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by the end user requests, Manager, and Executive team.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience working with both physical and virtual (VMware/Hyper-V) servers.
- 5 years of experience working with Windows-based laptops and desktops (Windows 10/Windows 11)
- Hands-on experience in Windows OS security hardening and security best practices
- Strong experience with Hyper-V is preferred.
- Experience with Hyper-V Clustering is a plus.
- Good experience with distributed systems with a focus on achieving high availability and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on experience with Data Protection solutions such as Carbonite Cloud and Server (e-Vault).
- Working knowledge of Meraki firewalls.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Experience using ServiceNow or Zoho, ticketing or ITAM is a plus.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have excellent customer service, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance, such as patching.
- Driver's license required.
