Position Summary:

The System Administrator, under the direction of the Information Technology Director, should have a strong background in managing and maintaining Windows-based systems and extensive experience with Azure Active Directory. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our users' IT environments.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing quality service to all constituencies of Alliant International University. They will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles and will be committed to the tenets of Alliant's Mission and Vision.

Salary: $70,000 - $100,000

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.• Manage and maintain Windows-based servers and systems, including but not limited to Windows Server 2019/2022 and 2022 Datacenter Azure Edition.• Assist with administration and troubleshooting of significant business and IT systems (Salesforce, Anthology Student, Microsoft O365, etc.).• Configure, deploy and manage Azure Active Directory services, including Azure AD Connect, Azure AD Domain Services, and Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement IT solutions tailored to organizational and user needs.• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and implement proactive measures to ensure high availability and performance of Windows-based systems.• Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and participate in cybersecurity initiatives.• Respond to and resolve technical issues, incidents, and service requests promptly and efficiently.• Participate as a member of the Infosec Team to address system hardening and for the protection, tracking, eradication, and reporting of disruptive and malicious cyber activity.• Assist with annual pen test scheduling, and associated security audit compliance and reporting.• Stay updated with industry best practices, security trends, and emerging technologies to enhance system administration skills.• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members, as needed.• Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Systems Administrator, focusing on cloud or business systems administration. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, operations knowledge, and troubleshooting expertise.

Skills:• Proven Azure Active Directory administration expertise, including Azure AD Connect and Azure MFA.• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewall rules, and security best practices.• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.• Business systems administration experience with Salesforce, Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, and other cloud services.• Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly desirable.• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
