System Analysis Engineer 

The Product Release Team’s charter is to ensure the TORC product conforms to the highest standards for safety critical systems as well as delivers superior business value expected for a L4 Freight Transportation Product. 

As a System Analysis Engineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming data into insight that is actionable by the engineering organization here at Torc.  You will work directly with an array of partners (Validation, Autonomy, System Design, Machine Teaching, etc.) to quantitatively measure the current system performance on releases, against requirement-based criteria as well as human benchmarks.   

What You’ll be doing: 

• Develop Performance Tracking Framework to evaluate Vehicle-Level Performance 
• Work with Validation to understand changes in performance to quickly address technical gaps 

• Lead the human driving data to characterize performance, including non-collision safety-related event analysis. 
• Validate assumptions made during the initial requirement generation process and ensure defensibility of the technical baseline.  
• Lead the formal method evaluation of the specification baseline. 
• Lead and communicate data analyses and trade studies, that provide teams with all the information needed to develop and continuously improve the systems function and performance. 
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and all relevant partners to ensure design, implementation, and programs are on track, and regularly drive consensus among diverse partners on technical projects. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:  

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics.  
• 2+ years of industry experience in systems analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, systems engineering, robotics or other related fields. 
• A hyper sense of attention to detail with an iterative approach in completing enterprise goal.  

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).  
• Experience working with large datasets, SQL and Python or C++. 
• Ability to understand complex technical systems. 
• Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity. 
• Critical thinking skills - interpret what the data is telling us, and which analyses will reveal impactful conclusions. 

Bonus Points!  

• Strong background in autonomous vehicle safety assessments. 
• Professional experience in the Self-Driving Industry. 
• Experience in deploying analysis Automation at scale and UX design for reporting tools.
