Job Description

The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation's space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space- delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.
At Aerospace, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees to share in our common passion and aspiration - to carry out a mission much bigger than ourselves.
The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

By joining this team as the Aerospace System and Data Integration Engineer or Senior System and Data Integration Engineer , you are putting yourself in a position to directly influence both NRO and NGA ground architectures and to be part of innovating resilient solutions that trade desires against acquisition, political, and war-fighting realities.
This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VA
What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the acquisition, refactoring and integration of geospatial intelligence ground systems.
  • Delivering independent and objective advice on NGA support and integration into various Intelligence Community agencies.
  • Assisting and advising the development of systems engineering expertise, analytic capability development, and geospatial intelligence budget planning and programming.
  • Delivering independent and objective reviews on ground systems architectures, geospatial intelligence actions, documents, strategies, plans, and issues.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the System and Data Integration Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related technical field
  • Eight years of experience in systems engineering and systems integration
  • Familiar with the development and integration of microservices that leverage technologies such as Kubernetes and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiar with GEOINT ground architectures
  • This position requires co-location at a Government site in Chantilly, VA
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above, the following is required for the Senior System and Data Integration Engineer
  • 12 years of experience in systems engineering and systems integration
  • Experience developing acquisition strategies for Major System Acquisitions
  • Experience integrating new and legacy systems with cloud and DevSecOps capabilities to support the development of GEOINT or OPIR solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical services
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Proven ability to lead mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in technical, architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects and tasks.
  • Experience and expertise in geospatial intelligence collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis.
  • Experience with OPIR ground architectures
  • Experience with developing approaches to accomplish strategic objectives
  • Familiarity with program management, DOD budget programming, requirements, and acquisition processes.
