THE POSITION
The candidate will be part of the Continental Automotive Deer Park Systems Engineering team with a focus on Systems Architecture, owning the end-to-end technical implementation of products for the automotive market. The SY Architect defines concepts and describes SY Architecture in a project or a platform project based on the requirements. He/she decomposes the product into components, defines the interfaces, dynamic behavior, and resource consumption target. He/she supports and reviews the software and hardware design, implementation and test cases, as well as factory process. He/she will be responsible for the technical roadmap, own the envision and next generation designs, participate in all sourcing and future technology decisions, and participate in industry symposiums, conferences, and training activities.
Areas of responsibility / Main tasks:• Define and document the system architecture and design (System Architecture and Design description).• Drive justify and document comprehensibly technical decisions made.• Align the definition of system context and the system boundary with the system requirements process and ensures that all relevant system requirements are considered for the system architecture definition. Accept or reject system requirements (e.g.: in scope and out of scope definition), depending on system feasibility• Decompose the system and identify system elements to break down the overall system complexity into manageable pieces. Describe the elements with necessary characteristics. Ensure a sufficient definition and specification of system interfaces and allocation to system elements.• Define the architecture and design in detail so that they can be implemented, integrated, and validated. Level of detail must be acceptable by all relevant parties.• Ensure reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, and security & privacy aspects for the system.• Allocate requirements to architectural elements and derive requirements refinement rational for the next level• Establish bidirectional traceability and ensure completeness and consistency from system architecture to system requirements• Define and manage architecture reference configurations (baselines).• Release the defined system architecture and design definition.• Communicate the system architecture and the design to the relevant development team.• Propose solutions for improvement in area of expertise and participate to workgroups• Define and break down performance requirements and the dynamic behavior of the system• Define the verification criteria• Define the integration strategy and the integration steps• Facility the system integration• Support Security and Privacy Concept (S&P) as well as Functional Safety Concept (FSM)• Workout System FMEA (MSR-FMEA)• Define the variability of the system design (Variant Management)• Document alternatives architectures and the design decision

Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor in Engineering (e.g. computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering) • 2+ years of embedded software, electrical engineering, or relevant • Basic knowledge and understanding of software engineering principles and techniques• Process oriented and experienced with automotive validation processes• Strong leader, communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work in a diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications:• Master's Degree in Engineering• Knowledge of Automotive ASPICE practices and tools• 5+ years of embedded software or electrical engineering experience • Knowledge of Rhapsody and/or other modeling / design tools • Experience in embedded Linux• Ability to travel internationally• Automotive experience a plus• Proven experience as a Software or Systems Requirements Engineer or Architect• Advanced knowledge and understanding of software engineering or electrical engineering principles and techniques
