System Developer

Overview

Highlight Technologies is seeking a System Developer to provide technical support to a 24x7x365 center for the Small Business Administration (SBA) IT service center.

This position is hybrid, employees must be local to Washington DC area.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the architecture and design of new and current systems.
• Contribute to the development of software applications and systems using appropriate software development methodologies and tools.
• Develop and maintain system and software documentation, including system requirements, design documents, and user manuals.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system and software environments, identifying and resolving technical issues as required.
• Integrate systems using programming and automation, including application programming interfaces (API) and runbooks.
• Develop and maintain scripts using scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Define and develop enterprise technology roadmaps, including current state and future state architectures.
• Work with commercial, open source, and cloud solutions to identify and develop appropriate technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of various cloud service models, including software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and platform as a service (PaaS).
• Participate in agile development processes, including Scrum development.
• Maintain knowledge of the software development life-cycle, including testing, release management, and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Eligible for Public Trust suitability.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience:
  • with Systems Engineering
  • with scripting languages, such as Bash and Python. Experience using Windows native API knowledge and PowerShell scripts
  • in application programming interfaces (API) integration, runbooks, and integrated systems using programming and automation.
  • in Web technologies: Web Services, Apache Tomcat, OS -Linux (RedHat) - Network protocols: TCP/IP, SSL/TLS,1-way TLS,2-way TLS.
  • in defining and developing architectures, including current state, future state, and enterprise technology roadmaps, working with commercial, open source, and cloud solutions, including developing
  • in various cloud service models to include software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service.
• 4+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
• 4+ years of experience with monitoring and troubleshooting system and software environments
• Scrum development skill sets
• Knowledge of the software development life-cycle.
• ITIL Certification preferred
