System Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Sr Middleware Engineer who can install new builds, maintain, debug, support and decommission existing applications, patch servers with latest versions, has strong administration background on various versions and strong understanding of ITSM concepts. S/he should be a go-getter with strong co-ordination skills to collaborate with teams for root cause identification and permanent fix resolution.

Responsibilities

Triage, Configure, Install, Update & Troubleshoot

o WebLogic / WebSphere/ Tomcat/ JBoss Application Servers, Apache web server in Java Linux platform

o IIS in a multi-instance environment (all flavors of Windows Server), Repliweb

Apply Patches to above products, and perform SSL Certificate management

Diagnose out-of-memory, hung Thread, Connection timeout, monitoring JVM and performance tuning, JDBC connectivity to Database Layers

Assist vendor support tickets and work with a team to triage and resolve urgent application issues.

Provide on-call support for the production environment

Solve or recommend solutions for complex issues and problems and document issues, solutions, tips & tricks as needed.

Lead, improve upon and create processes required for effective Middleware Application Administration

Requirements

Education: B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

Certifications, If Any: Preferred

ITIL Foundation

Cloud/ Tomcat / WebLogic Certification

Experience Range:

Overall, 8-10 years of experience

BS in Computer Science or a related field.

Mandatory skills:

6+ years of experience in -

o WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, Jboss Application Server administration ? At least 2

o Apache Web Server, IIS, Citrix ? At least 2

Experience in Transaction and performance monitoring tools such as Introscope, Dynatrace, Splunk etc.

Experience in TDI (Template driven infrastructure), Ansible and cloud & container architecture.

Proficiency in Linux and Windows environment

5+ years of experience with scripting (python, shell)

Working knowledge on Integration tool such as Ping Federate, SSO, administering windows NTFS permissions, and privileges in accordance with application requirements

Flexibility to cover various work schedules and foster a team approach.

Work Timings: 6:30AM-15:30/11:30-20:30/12:30-21:30 IST roster 16x7 support model
