Job Details:

Job Summary: Provides support to Corporate IT network infrastructure, direct customer support, RMA management, and new product development. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs new IT infrastructure hardware, systems, and software
  • Installs, configures, and maintains all network services, equipment, and devices
  • Performs administration of servers and server clusters
  • Manages all system back-ups and restorations
  • Plans, documents, and supports network, and computing infrastructure
  • Performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems
  • Documents network issues and resolutions for future reference
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance optimizations
  • Manages user accounts, permissions, email accounts, and network security
  • Maintains all licensing and information and manages software security
  • Performs all administrative duties for RMAs and performs equipment repairs as required
  • Provides direct customer technical support regarding the deployment, use, and troubleshooting of fielded systems
  • Provides training to employees on the use of a wide range of software applications
  • Provides direct technical hardware and software support to all corporate users
  • Provides system programming and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing as required
  • Coordinates system development tasks to include design, integration and formal product field testing.
  • Performs configurations and testing of a wide array of telecommunications product during all phases of the product lifecycle to include product development, testing, and production.
  • Develops and completes actions with regards to system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
  • Supports Tech Writer to create and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution of product demonstrations, customer support, and training both internally and externally
  • Works across functional areas and departments to provide expert technical guidance during all phases of product development
  • Provides direct technical support to sales regarding optimal system configurations for solving customer problems
  • Manages and documents Marketing Demo system inventory and device configurations
  • Provides marketing demonstration support both locally and on-site regarding both the sales presentation and technical configuration of all company products
  • Acts as front line communicator with customers in pre and post-sales support while gathering essential customer feedback

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Four year college degree plus five or more years of experience in networking and systems maintenance and operation.
  • Advanced IP networking knowledge and experience, configuring routers and switches for WAN and LAN connectivity (Cisco a plus).
  • Ability to communicate and present highly technical briefings to a wide ranging customer base (including military) in a respectful manner easily understood by the given audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to interpret and author and present well-formed documents.
  • Solid systems, problem solving and analytical skills in addition to strong personal motivation with an excellent work-ethic and positive, team-oriented mindset/attitude.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including the ability to configure a wide array of telecommunications devices to include routers, switches, servers and external transmission devices (i.e. SATCOM modems cellular modems, wireless routers, etc).
  • Network QoS classification and prioritization for voice and other real time services. Dynamic routing protocol configuration and operation, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP or other routing protocols. Load balancers
  • Expert troubleshooting and creative problem solving ability through using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches resultant conclusions. Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively direct employees.
  • Strong software application skills to include MS Office, MS Visio.
  • Basic yet diverse software development skills including knowledge of Ansible, HTML, PHP, PYTHON
  • Tactical military communications systems experience a plus (LAN/WAN). Technical certifications a plus: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE or higher Cisco.
  • Linux operating system, including Ubuntu or CentOS or RedHat.
  • Network integration with virtual platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM.
  • WAN circuit implementation and management
  • TACACS and other methods of AAA implementation, including integration with multi-factor authentication sources is a plus
  • VMware Tanzu, vSphere, Hyper-V, Microservices, RabbitMQ, Active MQ, and Container runtimes and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Rancher, Openshift, etc.) is a plus
  • Programming languages such as: Java, C++, JavaScript and Python is a plus
  • Methods, practices and tools used in DevOps, DevSecOps is a plus
  • Must be able to travel within the U.S. on short notice for product demonstrations, customer support and/or on-site training.

Additional Information

(San Diego only***) Targeted full-time [salary/hourly] range between $92,043 - $116,054 + benefits.
