System Engineer, SR IV

Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development team

Support the planning of systems and development deployments as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards and auditing

Participate in analysis, design, and new construction of next generation IT systems

Maintain standard windows images for VDI

Create application packages for end point management systems such as BigFix and SCCM

Provide the documentation, testing, and maintenance of system updates, modifications and configurations

Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project

Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.

Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.

Work with ticketing system to optimize and automate workflow

MANDATORY SKILLS: A solid technical background with a focus on IT Systems and the ability to identify and fix problems within existing systems, design and implementation of new systems, and enhancement of existing systems

Experience performing system engineering activities and developing and delivering work products

Experience with Telecommunication (TCP/IP, OIS/CMIP/X25), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, LINUX), database/DBMD (oracle, access, sybase) and applications (Tivolli, Peoplesoft)

Must have one of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED

Required Education & Experience: High School/GED (+12) years of relevant experience. AD (+10) years of relevant experience. BA/BD (+6) years of relevant experience. Master's degree (+4) years of relevant experience, or PHD (+2) years of relevant experience

OPTIONAL SKILLS: Experience configuring, deploying, and managing VDI infrastructures

Experience of application packaging and application deployment tools such as SCCM and BigFix

Extensive knowledge of scripting languages such PowerShell, Bash, Python

Endpoint OS experience with Windows 10/11 and Linux

Knowledge of integrated components such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

Ability to research, evaluate design test and implement Virtual Desktop solutions

Knowledge of full lifecycle management techniques testing, integration, change management, security and authentication services
