System Integration Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and results driven Materials Handling industry testing engineer to make a positive impact with a high-tech solution oriented organization. You will be part of an interdisciplinary technical team that proves the solution delivery function to our customers.
The System Integration Engineer is responsible for planning and execution of integrated, volume and acceptance testing of the overall Dematic solution (or assigned subsystem thereof).
The System Integration Engineer will work directly with project lead System Integration Manger(s) to ensure that all testing of a material handling system is completed and match specifications. In concert with working System Integration Manger the System Integration Engineer will assist or lead most testing phases.
This position can be located at any one of our field offices throughout North America (Texas, Illinois, Ohio, or other.), with preference in a major field office - New Berlin, WI or Grand Rapids, MI or Atlanta, GA.

Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What You Will Do in This Role:
- Ensure completed system meets functional and performance specification from sales proposal and design phases.
- Understand the system material flow concept and physical system layout.
- Understand functional design specification for material flow host (WCS/WMS) Participates in all system emulation to ensure technical disciplines are prepared to go to site.
- Facilitates and participates in software testing and customer acceptance of software functionality.
- Assist in Factory Acceptance testing of third-party equipment.
- Assist in Factory Acceptance testing of Dematic supplied equipment.
- During the integration phases of project, ensures all technical disciplines are working together toward common goals and on compatible schedules.
- Contributes to the development of the Test Execution Plan and Acceptance Test plans.
- Conducts and documents Onsite integration, volume and acceptance testing.
- Responsible for ownership of the issues list during the testing phase. This includes prioritizing issues, driving resolution, and escalating if necessary.
- Keep the lead System Integration Manger and / or Project Manager regularly informed of the testing status.
- Flexibility to work outside the core business hours. Some weekend work will be required
- Willingness to travel for extended periods based on project life cycle. Approximately 70%+ annually. This is a predominantly site-based role, moving from one site to the next to support the integrated commissioning and testing phases. This occurs mostly in North American, but occasionally worldwide.
This is What We are Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
- Previous experience in testing or design of automation equipment in the materials handling industry preferred
- Ability to lead, direct, motivate and coordinate the activities of a testing team.
- Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
- Ability to be customer facing, good with customer interaction.
