System Requirements Engineer

As a system requirements engineer at Lunar, you will be responsible for working with cross-functional stakeholders to codify and refine product, system, and component level requirements for all of Lunar’s existing and future products. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about decarbonizing residential buildings and building a more sustainable future. An ideal candidate is both collaborative and able to work independently to establish and refine the frameworks that the company broadly relies on to collectively understand our technical goals.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

• Own and continuously improve the process and infrastructure we use to capture, manage, and communicate requirements.
• Work with multidisciplinary groups to document requirements in ways that empower successful execution
• Take complex, sometimes qualitative needs and distill them into unambiguous and testable requirements
• Support modeling efforts to clarify our understanding of technical tradeoffs

• Masters or PhD in electrical, systems, or software engineering or related field-
• Prior experience managing product requirements
• Passion for data visualization and technical communication
• Passion for wordsmithing for specificity and clarity
• Passion for renewable energy and clean tech
• Nice to have: Functional understanding of power electronics, photovoltaic systems, and Li-ion batteries
• Nice to have: Experience working with regulatory requirements (UL,NEC,CSA,etc)
• Nice to have: Experience testing products

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $140k - $180k USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
