Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking to hire a System Security Engineer. The desired candidate will work in the following areas:

Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Handles a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.

Specifically, the candidate will perform the following type of activities:

• Analyze concept of operations and cybersecurity/anti-tamper requirements to propose, design, develop, and implement security/protection controls in compliance with government furnished implementation guides
• Analyze existing system security architecture
• Architect a system that is resistant to tampering and cyber-attacks
• Implement security improvements/designs through assessment an evaluation of industry and Department of Defense (DoD) standards and trends
• Develop technical documentation to document trades studies, system designs, analysis, and results related to systems security
• Provide oversight on security requirements and technical specifications during project implementation
• Support assessment of system cybersecurity control compliance
• Experience developing cybersecurity architectures
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both IC (ICD 503) and DoD (DoDI 8510.01) communities
• Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC or Key Management
• Understanding of Anti-Tamper and TEMPEST standards and how these relate to cybersecurity
• Systems Administration in COTS SW platforms
• Familiarity with encryption devices (Type 1, FIPS, and CSfC) preferred
• Ability and comfort to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Works well in a team environment
• Interface with management to communicate technical and program status

Job Requirements

BS in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university and minimum 10 years' experience

Current DoD SECRET clearance, TS preferred
