JOB SUMMARY - System Support Ana lyst - Technology

The primary responsibility of the System Support Analyst-Technology is to work closely with Business Process Managers, Business Process Leads, Quality Assurance Analysts, Developers, and Business SMEs to understand the business requirements of the Meter Data Management workstream, translate them into technical requirements, and facilitate the testing, documentation, and defect resolution of these requirements. The successful candidate should understand the impacts to end-users to accurately define user stories and identify change impacts.

While this role is expected to be hybrid work, approximately 25% travel is anticipated and for this reason, it is preferred that resources are located within the electric service territory.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

  • 3 or more years of experience in the electric utility industry with knowledge of technology and/or business functions related to metering, billing, and field activities
  • Understanding of data flow processes and architecture associated with transporting data from the meters to the data collectors, communications systems, and TO systems
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the company and industry, as well as with vendors/suppliers
  • Understand and test design elements to ensure they meet business needs and create efficiencies
  • High degree of initiative and personal ownership
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review Field and Usage Loading and Validation related protypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to confirm that the needs of the business are met
  • Assist the Business Process Leads in detailing the requirements, refining user stories, documenting acceptance criteria, breaking use cases to user stories and defining business rules and scenarios
  • Provide guidance on Metering and Field related process/data flow and data source requirements
  • Assist in translating Metering and Field user stories and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product and user acceptance testing
  • Develop testing strategies and procedures for MDM workstream
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of manual test cases for sprint testing, integration testing, UAT, ORT and parallel testing
  • Responsible for working with Automation testers to provide functional and technical knowledge on what needs to be automated
  • Participate in code reviews and work with other developers, designers, and architects to verify requirements are met and effectively provide feedback and alternative solutions when business needs are not met
  • Work closely with Developers, System Support Analysts, and Business Process Leads to identify, track, and resolve defects
  • Track key testing metrics and conduct periodic reviews to measure and ensure consistent progress
  • Thoroughly document test results
  • Identify and effectively communicate impacts of business decisions across workstreams
