Typical day in the life of a System Administrator:

- Support, troubleshoot, and maintain computer servers and networks

- Install computers and their operating systems, as well as the software that relates to the Internet

- Install Web servers-the heart of the system that delivers information to the Internet

What are we looking for?

- Proficient in Linux sys admin functions (including OS loading, patching, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Samba, SSH, VNC, user/group management, etc.)

- This includes the ability set up Linux servers and be able to share data between them and other computers (oftentimes Windows-based)

- Experience testing and hardening systems (testing using tools like SecScan, Nessus, etc.) and then implementing hardening scripts (ensuring regressing testing is done with required applications to ensure nothing breaks by hardening)

- Would prefer someone with virus scanning experience on the Linux side as well

- Would prefer someone with some shell scripting experience (like Bash) to help automate tasks

- Would prefer someone with some software integration experience (e.g., ability to take provided applications, install, and troubleshoot installation/running on the server)

- Proficient in Windows sys admin functions (including OS loading, patching, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, virus scanning applications, Policy changes/implementation, etc.)

o this includes the ability to set up Windows servers (Server 2008, Server 2012, etc.) and clients (e.g., Win7, Win8, Win10) and ensure data can be shared between them and Linux servers

- Would prefer someone who has experience testing and hardening systems (testing using tools like DirtScan, dirty word searches, Nessus, etc.) and then implementing hardening scripts (ensuring regressing testing is done with required applications to ensure nothing breaks by hardening)

- Would prefer someone with some shell power shell scripting experience to help automate tasks

- Would prefer someone with some software integration experience (e.g., ability to take provided applications, install, and troubleshoot installation/running on the server)

- Oftentimes one person won't be a rock-star in both domains, it would also work to be an expert in one domain but with experience in the other domain as well.

- Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. - Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have:

- Meet IAT Level II - ex. Security+ (Sec+) OR be able to secure Sec+ certification or higher.

- Basic router and switch and switch configuration knowledge, necessary for configuration and/or system hardening and compliance scanning requirement.

- Elastic (ELK) Stack configuration and user experience
