Position Summary:

The Warn Group is comprised of multiple premium brands, and are the leaders in vehicle recovery, and off-roading equipment.

A successful System Administrator for the Warn Group can work independently and collaboratively with others. In addition to maintaining a high level of trust, integrity, and ethical standards, all of our team members are expected to promote a culture of safety and collaboration.

Our System Administrator maintains, updates, and secures the technical infrastructure for the Company. The System Administrator purchases IT related hardware, within the limits set by the IT Operations Manager and Finance, in addition to documenting IT processes and infrastructure. Assists the IT help desk personnel as needed and is responsible for Sarbanes- Oxley compliance in assigned areas. Our System Administrator manages software and hardware components used by the applications systems to meet business needs. This position is primarily remote, with the ability to come on site as needed for various tasks, projects, and/or meetings.

Essential Functions:

  • Working collaboratively with other Systems Engineers & Administrators to ensure accuracy, compliance and maintaining the company's infrastructure.
  • Purchasing IT related hardware, with guidance from the IT Operations Manager & Finance
  • Assist in documenting IT processes and infrastructure.
  • Assisting the IT Help desk personnel to trouble shoot common issues as needed to support our internal customers.
  • An active contributor in several IT projects.
  • Assist with the maintenance of on-site appliances, switches, firewalls, and physical IT server infrastructure where applicable.
  • Perform basic configuration and maintenance tasks on network infrastructure including Cisco Switches, Ruckus Wi-Fi, and Zscaler Cloud Security.
  • Working collaboratively with IT Operations Manager, System Engineers & Administrators, and additional IT team members to ensure technical infrastructure meets the needs of the production environment and future applications.
  • Providing recommendations on new products, platforms, services and processes to the IT Ops Manager
  • Assist with DevOps tasks in tools/environments such as JDE, RFSmart, Docker, AWS, Azure, and/or Google.

Availability Requirements:

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires the ability to be present on-site, and available through communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams.

The required number of hours / week will vary depending on what is required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position. This position will require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings and/or during weekends.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field, or experience equivalent to a degree.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or appropriate Microsoft certifications desired
  • 3 + years of experience in related work in information technology operations

Required Qualifications, Technical Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with Network Management Systems (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP and VPN technologies. Working knowledge of network topology and protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of scripting and automating procedures/tasks as well as installing software upgrades and security patches.
  • Must have solid working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • In-depth knowledge of PC and Server hardware; operating systems such as Windows 7/10/11 and Server 2012 - 2022; and management of them with tools such as SCCM. Functional knowledge of Linux and SQL Server.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft cloud tools such as Azure, Entra, and O365. As well as functional knowledge of AWS.
  • Knowledge of VMWare vSphere, data backup/restore products such as CloudBerry or Veeam, telephony (Mitel), Firewalls, and switches (Cisco).
  • Knowledge of tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Must be flexible and open to others' ideas and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability and willingness to work extended hours as necessary is required.
  • Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, problem solving, research, organizational and analytical skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks, and establish and meet deadlines. Ability to address multiple tasks while remaining flexible with changing priorities and deadlines with multiple complex assignments, projects and issues. Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated use of well-reasoned decision making with a high attention to detail regarding organization, planning, workflow, and project prioritization to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Uses a proactive approach to problems and challenges and react quickly and decisively in critical situations.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate activities necessary to a project's completion. Demonstrated follow-through.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Including the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a calm, rational, respectful demeanor and communication style in times of stress occasioned by work demands, tight timelines, high expectations, unexpected IT issues, and other work related issues or concerns that may cause a heightened level of anxiety, frustration, anger, disappointment, confusion, etc.
  • Highly ethical, self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and/or with limited direction, while consistently demonstrating collaborative, respectful and productive work habits.

Language Skills:

The successful candidate exhibits the ability to read, write, verbalize, and comprehend instructions and correspondence in the English language. In addition, the right Systems Administrator exhibits strong oral and written communication skills commensurate with the job tasks and position. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service is essential.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under education/experience requirement.

  • Move to, from and within the designated work area frequently and consistently throughout the workday and regularly throughout our building and/or across Warn-related property and customer site locations, possibly during inclement weather.
  • Use a personal computer frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data and other business-related information.
  • Lift, transport and/or move up to 40 pounds, 80 pounds with assistance. May require occasional lifting overhead. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing.
