Systems Administrator

KBR Is seeking an Systems Administrator to join our Team at NAS Patuxent. The position is in Lexington Park, Maryland.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the administration of the following data systems: Computer systems hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Ability to work in a LINUX and Windows environment.
• Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems, administers operating systems, and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups.
• Troubleshoots basic IT issues (user cannot login, unable to access resources, etc).
• Conduct inspections and remediation in coordination with Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
• Scan for wireless intrusions in classified spaces.
• Answer data calls and work with program offices to complete IT initiatives.
• Solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.
• Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a systems administrator;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration.
• Must be LINUX Qualified. Able to independently troubleshoot various IT issues.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with administrative, personnel, and operations security policies and procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with integrated teams comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience working in a DoD security environment
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance. Must be used within the last two years.

Preferred Skills:

• DoD 8570 Level II Compliance (Security + CE Certification) - If candidate does not hold this certification, they will be required to obtain it within 6 months of hiring.
• Experience with standup of Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) and its classified IT components.
