TITLE: Systems Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems
LOCATION: Fargo, North Dakota           Â
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The System Administrator will take ownership of designing, configuring, and maintaining our company’s infrastructure and software. This position serves as a crucial member of our IS/IT team, ensuring smooth operations and prompt resolution of daily challenges within our infrastructure.
REPORTS TO: CISO Systems/Security Supervisor
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Â
- Microsoft Proficiency: Exhibit expertise in Microsoft 365 Admin Centers including but not limited to Azure, Entra, Security, Compliance, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Recommendations and Upgrades: Offer valuable insights on hardware and software upgrades for optimal performance.
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: Proficiency in managing virtual desktop environments to facilitate remote work and ensure seamless access to resources.
- Patch Management: Conduct systems administration, configuration, and testing related to patch management for both Windows Client/Servers and non-Windows endpoints.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Proficiency in managing and optimizing cloud resources on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP to enhance scalability and performance.
- Networking Expertise: Possess a strong grasp of systems and networking software, hardware, protocols, with experience in scripting and automation tools.
- Backup Efficiency: Ensure robust system backups are established and operating efficiently as per specifications.
- Workstation and Servers: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft servers and workstations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Technical Assistance: Provide timely technical support to users, proficiently troubleshooting software and hardware issues within a hybrid environment.
- Disaster Recovery: Ensure the disaster recovery plan is current and undergoes annual testing.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation on systems, procedures, and flow charts.
- Training and Collaboration: Cross-train staff and promote a collaborative culture within the team.
- Incident Resolution: Demonstrate the ability to perform root cause analysis, swiftly recovering from service interruptions and preventing recurring problems.
- Technical Assistance: Provide timely technical support to users, proficiently troubleshooting software and hardware issues within a hybrid environment.
- Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work self-sufficiently, achieving goals and objectives with minimal supervision. Maintain accurate asset inventory.
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of assets.
- Special Projects: Assist the CISO-Systems/Security Supervisor with special projects as required.
RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborate closely with fellow team members in the Information Systems Department. Engage with AFBIS customers, vendors, and internal staff, representing AFBIS, Inc. professionally and courteously.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED: A Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field is desirable. However, substantial relevant work experience will also be considered in lieu of formal education.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft servers/workstations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory, Group Policy, and Permissions.
- Expertise in vulnerability management, application, and OS hardening to mitigate CVE.
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and utilizing automation tools for routine tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience with Intune, SCCM, Ivanti, Co-management and Windows Autopilot.
- Desire and capacity to acquire new knowledge, develop new skills, and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem solver, and excellent customer service orientation.
- Apple MacBook support and troubleshooting.
- Apple iOS and Android device support; setup and configuration.
- Excellent communication and client support skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Position requires sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods and using a keyboard and mouse.
- Minimal travel may be required to aid projects as needed.
