Systems Administrator
KBR is seeking an experienced Lead IT Systems Administrator to support the implementation of one or more data systems supporting cutting edge technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of computer systems hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems, administers operating systems, and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
This is a telework position with up to 25% travel to Maui, Hawaii.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining multiple systems access for all team members
- Ensures compliance of rules and roles assigned for each user, for each required system
- Tracks system access and maintains records and required certification for all users
- Reports network outages to team members and customer, as applicable
- Assists in the implementation of required government policy and makes recommendations on process
- Responsible for building strong customer and stakeholder relationships
- Support the team in implementing CI/CD to government identified networks
- Periodically conducts of a review of each system and identifies corrective actions required
- Responsible for maintaining system integrity
- Conducts employee system access on-boarding for new team members
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer information systems management or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience is required in addition to 5+ years of related experience.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team in managing IT systems.
- Experience in cloud environments
- Current Sec+ or comparable certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to maintain a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain
- Experience in coordinating with team members and leadership across the organization to ensure timely compliance.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment supporting diverse customer base comprised of software developers, engineers and scientists.
- Must be able to support travel and occasional "off-hours" fieldwork
- Knowledge in the development and maintenance of IT systems and contingency plans for all systems under their responsibility.
Contract Requirements:
- 5 years or more of directly related experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
- Sec+ certified
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in communicating technical Information to non-technical personnel
- Experience in developing waivers and exceptions for information systems
- Experience working independently and as a team in researching data, developing analytical techniques and methodologies
- Experience in Kubernetes cluster architecture/ Docker experience
- Certified AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Knowledge in DevSecOps/Agile development model
- Computing environment certificate such as Linux+ or Cisco Certification
The salary range for this role is $98,000 - 146,000 USD Annually and is based off of a candidates directly applicable background, years of experience, and education
