Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.
Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator with expertise in enterprise resource planning software administration. In this role, you will build, maintain, optimize, and secure key Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) software infrastructure that operators will use to manage facilities and operate plants across all sites at Kairos Power. These platforms will support hardware, software, and data management used for plant operations and testing activities.Â
Responsibilities
- Manage software platforms for SCADA/HMI, Electronic Procedures, Operations Management, Control System programming, Simulator Platform, AWS servers, and moreÂ
- Configure platforms to match team needsÂ
- Seize opportunities for modularization and containerization to rapidly deploy solutions on new systemsÂ
- Identify, prioritize, and schedule patches and updates for critical vulnerabilities, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptionÂ
- Train users on access and use of OT platformsÂ
- Assume primary responsibility for organizing and maintaining data assets produced by OT software platformsÂ
- Develop data management processes and procedures
- Integrate processes across various software and hardware systemsÂ
- Integrate realtime and batch data across multiple software platforms, including electronic data management systems by leveraging APIs, ETL, and scripting/light codingÂ
- Create custom queries and guide others in using query toolsÂ
- Work on cross-cutting projects with controls engineers, operations, IT, and mechanical designersÂ
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 3+ years demonstrated systems administration experienceÂ
- Experience includes but not limited to Inductive Automation Ignition, Epsilon3, Rockwell Automation Network Suite, Apros, AWS, VMWare, Docker, SCADA, HMI, ERP, Electronic Procedures, Plant Simulators, Control System programming is preferred
- Proficiency with structured query languages (SQL, PostgreSQL) is requiredÂ
- Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to understand and develop software requirementsÂ
- Abides by an automation-first philosophyÂ
- Experience with virtual environments is preferredÂ
- Programming proficiency (Python, C++, C#) is a plusÂ
- Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plusÂ
- Background knowledge in user experience design, human factors, and industrial automation design is desiredÂ
- Ability to work on tasks and teams that require a multi-disciplinary approachÂ
- Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team
- Ability to work alone on assigned work projectsÂ
- Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others
- Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
- Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues
- Excited to work on advanced nuclear and contribute to Kairos’ missionÂ
Physical Conditions
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods

Safety and PPE
- Reading and interpreting hazardous warning signs
- Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
- Wearing proper PPE, to include face mask, face shields, gloves, safety shoes
Travel
- Occasional travel to other Kairos Power sites may be required (15%)

- Occasionally requires schedule flexibility
- Occasionally requires extended hours to support launch and critical project timelinesÂ
