Job Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the internal or external infrastructure systems. This position is responsible for designing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting systems and data communication operating systems, components, and software. In addition, they provide detailed analysis of reports to management. This individual serves as a strong team member and individual contributor in the support, development, and implementation of new and/or updated technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows EquiTrust change management and problem management methodologies.
  • Defines and adjusts monitoring tools to accommodate new systems prior to implementation. Identifies and produces reports regarding monitoring tool statistics and trends.
  • Participates in the planning, evaluation and purchase of proposed systems/management tools.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Assists in the administration and configuration of Accounting system import configuration and jobs.
  • Administers Bamboo and Draftable.
  • Manages the Docker environment.
  • Administers App Performance Monitoring, including but not limited to building and running scripts, as well as managing and monitoring IIS configuration on servers.
  • Administers Cloudflare configurations.
  • Manages EquiTrust's automation/scheduling tool and environment.
  • Configures and administers SharePoint.
  • Assists with database-related tasks, including but not limited to backups, restores, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Upgrades administrative tools and utilities. Configure and add new services as necessary.
  • Assists in administering cloud-based infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Given that the Company's systems must be supported twenty-four hours a day, this position has on-call responsibilities, including work being performed outside of normal business hours.
  • Supports the Information Technology team and/or other departments on an as-needed basis.
  • Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
  • Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must stay current with industry technology changes to make recommendations for new technologies or changes to make in the infrastructure environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities required to perform day-to-day identification and troubleshooting of systems issues.
  • Strong analytical abilities as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to think independently and make most decisions without additional direction.
  • Highly organized and able to self-manage the workload.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tintri, Commvault, and Dell products preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the following technologies: Bamboo, Draftable, Docker, VisualCron.
  • Advanced experience with database administration activities.
  • Extensive experience with application performance monitoring.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange and O365.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud services, such as Amazon or Azure required.

Training or Work Experience:

  • If High School Diploma or Equivalent: 8 years of network administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience required.
  • If Associate's Degree: 6 years of network administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience required.
  • If Bachelor's Degree: 4 years of network administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience required.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree - Computer Science or a related field of study preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science or a related field of study preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Business Travel: Infrequent travel (less than 5% of the time).
