Job Description

IT Systems Administrator The Opportunity We are looking for a proactive, hands-onIT Systems Administratorready to own and drive the technology strategy for an established San Antonio-based retail company. We are looking for a key individual tooversee the full lifecycle of our IT infrastructure, from the internal network and servers to end-user systems and our critical Point-of-Sale (POS) environment. This is more than a maintenance role; you'll be astrategic partneron the leadership team, directly influencing the effective use of technology to enhance store service, improve operational efficiency, and drive future innovation across all locations. Key Responsibilities: As our sole or lead IT expert, you'll be responsible for the health, security, and performance of all technology. Your day-to-day will involve: Infrastructure & Operations Management: • Architect, manage, and upgradethe entire internal network, ensuring high availability, speed, and security. • Administer and maintainall IT systems, including physical and virtual servers, cloud services, PCs, operating systems, and a full suite of software applications. • Manage and enhancethe company’s retailPoint-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring reliability for all store transactions. • Oversee and integrate new systems with existing technology platforms, managing the full deployment lifecycle. Support & Strategy: • Serve as thetop-tier technical expertand manage all end-user services, including running the help desk and providing hands-on technical support. • Collaborate directly with the Leadership Teamto identify user requirements, recommend practical, future-proof solutions, and develop long-term IT strategies. • Manage communication and support for all corporate telephones, including cell phones. • Keep current with emerging technologies and proactively recommend new solutions to meet evolving business requirements. Compliance & Project Leadership: • Lead and completemultiple concurrent IT projectswith a high degree of initiative and autonomy. • Ensure all IT documentation (system manuals, user guides, license agreements, etc.) is created, maintained, and up-to-date. • Maintain a precise inventory of all company technology assets. Qualifications: • Minimum of 3+ yearsof progressive, hands-on experience in a systems administration or systems support environment. • Demonstrated expertisein managing network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) and server environments (Windows Server, virtualization, cloud services are a plus). • Solid understanding of standard business practices and the ability to work strategically with confidential company information. • ProvenPoint-of-Sale (POS) system management experiencein a multi-location retail environment is highly desirable. • Exceptionalcommunication skills(written and verbal) with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users and present strategies to leadership. • Ability to workindependently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities effectively. • Must have flexibility to workevenings and weekendsas needed for urgent support or system maintenance/upgrades.
