JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator will work as part of a team to manage SD's hybrid infrastructure spanning multiple data centers and online offerings. The primary focus will be supporting user facing services, primarily in the Microsoft ecosystem. Troubleshooting and documentation will be critical the success of this role as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Satcom Direct (SD) operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
- Hybrid Active Directory, GPO management and configuration
- Management of virtualized infrastructure (VMWare)
- Management of email and network security appliances (Exchange Online, ProofPoint, Mimecast)
- Knowledge and experience managing, securing and migrating to, various Microsoft Online services
- Provide escalated desktop support as required
- Establish, deliver and maintain quality and reliability standards for Satcom Direct's Data Center, leveraging existing tools and processes or developing new as
- Installation of server & network Scheduling and coordination with site ops personnel and service providers.
- Document standards and processes within the environment. Create full sets of documentation around projects, systems and work.
- Respond to alarms and mitigate issues. This is a position with off hours responsibility for Satcom Direct's critical
- Track server/network assets through deployment Maintain accurate reporting and auditing capability for all assets within the data center.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS:
- Experience with Windows Server and Desktop Support
- Experience with Linux (CentOS)
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience with IIS setup, support and monitoring
- Experience with MS SQL Environments
- Experience with Azure services
- Experience with VMWare based virtual infrastructures
- Experience working with heterogeneous server/network hardware failures
- Experience working in a multi-vendor data center environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications Ability and interest to thoroughly document work is mandatory.
- Must be able to lift and secure computer equipment up to 65
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address incidents
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking or laughing loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.
