JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) computer systems
- Ability to coordinate with other system and network administration staff as well as program leadership
- Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support independently
- Support building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure up-grades
- Support diagnosis and correct server and network system issues
- Provide continuous lab status to ensure system records availability
- Ensure consistent technical direction and understanding between government and contractor staff
- Work with Senior Engineers on next level IT architecture trade studies and development
- Maintain multiple architectural IT applications across the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) asset
- Ensure consistent IT processes, practices, and documentation across the M&S asset
- Operations support: Five days a week, providing daily support for development and operation assets and willing to travel
- Work location is (HSV) Redstone Arsenal
- Domestic and foreign sites approximately 25% travel
- Perform other IT duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have experience with RHEL 6/7/8/9 System Administration
- Bachelors or Associates degree and at least 5 years of experience
- The candidate must be able to install, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain computers and network equipment
- Must have the ability to build both physical and virtual RHEL systems
- Must have at least one Linux certification e.g. Linux+, LPIC, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Candidates must comply with the experience, training, and certification requirements for DoD 8570 IAT level II employment (e.g., Security+ CE or higher)
- Ability to obtain a US Passport
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience working with VMWare ESXi virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of RHEL 8 & RHEL 9.
- Scripting with bash, python, etc
- Workflow automation (CRON)
- Experience with Ansible, Satellite, HBSS (ESS), RSA server/client, and various techniques for both development and operation environments
- Experience with networks and Cisco IOS and devices
- Previous experience with MDA (Missile Defense Agency) or BMDS (ballistic missile defense system)
