Systems Administrator Specialist II

Overview:

Completes most complex system administration responsibilities for an assigned area of the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Represent System Administration interests on projects
• Complete audit report validation process on an exception basis
• Complete user access provisioning for most complex systems
• Complete table maintenance in most complex/highest risk systems
• Complete real-time validation that work is properly completed
• Serve as second level escalation point for customer calls related to systems and communications
• Handle complex re-certifications
• Handle custom job requests
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations
• Follow up on requests until completion
• Develop and update procedures as necessary
• Triage/troubleshoot production issues and serve as escalation point for reps
• Develop test scripts and coordinate testing situations (i.e. disaster recovery, new release, system upgrades, etc. testing)
• Identify process improvement opportunities
• Serve as technical liaison between IT and business lines
• Re image PCs as required
• Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced personnel
• Coordinate meetings between business lines and technology counterparts
• Respond to Audit/SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) inquiries and fulfill requests based on those discussions
• Run and analyze management productivity reports to ensure reasonableness of information
• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
• Complete other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience.

Excellent PC skills with knowledge of pertinent software.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in related discipline

Previous system administration experience

Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Knowledge of Banking applications

Obtained one or more of the following certifications: MTA, MCSAm MCIPT, MCTS or MCSE or has equivalent knowledge or experience
