Systems Analysis Advisor - Work from Home
Job Description
The Systems Analysis Advisor provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Systems Analysis assignments/projects. Analyzes, designs and prepares application/system specifications for information systems solutions which address business needs and methods for testing and installing them. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user defined needs. Devises or modifies procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. May work with client management to identify and specify the complex business requirements and processes, and in the application design, testing and implementation process (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.). Coordinates the activities with other IT sections (e.g., data base, telecommunications, operations, technical support, etc.). Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis. Responsible for quality assurance review. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Systems Analysis but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Provide help desk support responding to business on inquiries and production issues related to Healthcare sales compensation system.
- Provide testing on all system modifications relating to project and production support activities
- Support annual sales compensation methodology changes by updating all rule based tables
- Provide systems expertise to system users, business partners, IT personnel and other internal/external customers including trouble shooting issues, as well as, identifying and correcting inefficiencies.
- Responsible for facilitating business requirements gathering and translating into system requirements.
- Review Business Requirements and work with and guide business partners to complete business requirement documentation. Clearly define systems work scope and objectives based on Business Requirements. Works with IT personel to research and evaluate alternative solutions and assists in recommending the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution as necessary.
Qualifications
- 5+ years working in IT in a Testing or Production Support or Quality Analyst role
- Self-motivated and highly professional
- Bachelor degree and at least five, typically seven years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Several years of experience in analysis, design and support of IT applications.
- Experience in all phases of business process lifecycle or IT project management
- Able to meet deadlines working independently in a fast paced environment
- Effective interaction with peers, team members and business partners
- Microsoft Office application proficiency (Excel/Access highly desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Able to meet deadlines working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Comfortable with technical terminology and concepts
- Familiarity with Healthcare, Underwriting and Membership Reporting processes
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 91,000 - 151,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
