The Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) organization is seeking a qualified senior engineer (P3) for a Systems Analysis position supporting Adaptive Engines. This position be a part of the operability team. This position reports to the XA101 Systems Analysis manager. As the Adaptive Engines group is entering the Engine Validation phase of the program, prior experience in validation environments is strongly desired.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development and evaluation of control schemes and schedules.
  • Test planning and analysis of engine test data to assure compliance to requirements; stability auditing; verification and documentation of engine transient response; verification and documentation of engine starting capability.
  • Maintaining and updating the engine transient model; managing internal and external transient model releases.
  • Apply thermodynamic principles to a wide range of aircraft engine performance development topics such as product validation, control definition and optimization, cycle studies, and performance for thrust & fuel burn.
  • Helps closure of technical issues during engine test.
  • Prepare and present results to EDSIT and SIPT.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years' of experience.
  • This position is highly inter-disciplinary and collaborative, requiring excellent communication skills. Potential travel for test coverage.
  • Off shift support required when at test.
  • U.S. Citizenship due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years' of experience with propulsion system design.
  • Active US Government security clearance or able to obtain / maintain US Government security clearance.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • A track record of delivering results in a cross-functional team environment.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management is critical.
  • Performance and operability experience.
  • Expertise with Unigraph, NPSS (including PDR) and iSight.
  • Knowledge of control logic and control schedules generation.
  • Experience in managing internal and external customers.
