We’re looking for a Systems and DevOps Support Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a critical product team within Segmed where you will use Linux, DevOps engineering skills and an engineering mindset to shape the future of healthcare.  You will become a subject matter expert in our Data Pipeline Product, work with hospitals to install, configure and test interface linkages for data flow and migration between Segmed and our clients. You’ll be responsible for server integration, security, setup, bring up and maintenance. Our #1 priority is data security, and you will play a pivotal role in designing and building an infrastructure that can support our needs. We are a 100% Infrastructure-as-a-Code company, and you must be comfortable with Terraform/Git and working in an SDLC process (merge requests with code reviews). This is a highly visible role that carries a lot of responsibility while offering great opportunities for learning and becoming an expert.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- You will use developer efficiency engineering skills to help our software engineers deploy and debug Segmed products that we ship to production systems on-prem and in the cloud.
- You will develop, document, test, and validate interfaces.
- You will collaborate with Engineering and Product Teams to ensure that our product roadmap positions us well for seamless integrations with VNA, PACS, RIS, EMR, and EHR systems.
- You will read documentation of commercial VNA, PACS, and RIS systems and suggest product features allowing us to integrate the Segmed data pipeline in a hands-off way at our hospital partners. The goal is to be able to receive archival and real-time data from a wide range of clinical facilities.
- You will help us match the level of quality and ease of integrations with commercial radiology IT systems. In doing so, you’ll ensure that Segmed solutions meet industry requirements of radiology IT systems (security, networking protocols, configuration).
- You will work with Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Hospital Partnerships, to ensure that Segmed system integrations are carried on time, and pitch in with suggestions, ideas and improvements to our integration pipeline.
- Set up VPN of on prem computers, install the software, collaborate with hospitalsÂ
- Design and create secure Infrastructure-as-a-Code to support Segmed’s integration needsÂ
- Write Terraform configurations and Ansible playbooks to setup our systems
- Ensure ensure all systems are instrumented / monitored / audited
- Install, configure, test interface linkages on EMR and EHR customer projectsÂ
- Data flow and data migration between Segmed and our clients (between RIS, PACS, and EMR systems)
- Development of new interfaces and the support of existing systems
- Software development skills with at least one scripting programming language (Python, Ruby, Perl) and compiled language development experience (C#, Java, C++, Go)
- Experience with UNIX and GNU/Linux systems administration and maintenance
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Experience in setting up on-prem servers, outside of any cloud
- Experience planning and designing the cloud infrastructure with AWS
- Hands-on knowledge and understanding of challenges of software development lifecycle (design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)
- Superior attention to detail
- Excellent communicator, both interpersonal and writtenÂ
- Well organized and able to juggle many projects at once
- People skills - you must be a team player and get to know the wider Segmed team
- Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment (Slack, JIRA, GitLab)
- Ability and interest at the intersection of software engineering, integration, and architecture
- Expertise with integrating one or more PACS and RIS systems from multiple vendors (Ambra, Intelerad, Agfa, Philips, GE, Visage, Novarad, Konica Minolta, Merge, Radsource, Carestream)
- Demonstrated ability integrating one or more EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts)
- Knowledge of medical IT infrastructure and challenges in architecting it
- Experience working with the DICOM and HL7 data exchange standards
- Experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive levelÂ

Base compensation range: $120,000-180,000K depending upon skills and experienceÂ
