Job Description

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role ofPrincipalSystems Architect - Data Platforms, in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Cyber Situational Awareness (UCSA) program at Fort Meade.The System Architect willcontribute to engineering efforts within the DataPlatformteamsin support of the larger UCSA effort. Primary responsibilities includethe design and development of a Kafka based Data Brokering solution, assessing theexisting platform and tools to provide a clear phased plan that achieves end-state requirements, and supporting a Data bus in a hybrid-cloudenvironment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with customer technical and functional requirements for the development of software and analytic products.
• Assist in documenting specifications and functional requirements for the data platform and its components.
• Coordinate and consult with other solution architects and service owners, both within the team and externally
• Assess, identify, and deliver options to meet functional requirements and deliver technical efficiencies.
• Assess, document, and deliver impact of proposed changes on capacity planning and integration requirements.
• Participate in the development of system-level designs and documentation, creating and maintaining reference architectures, design documents, and diagrams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure system compliance and compatibility with DoD standards and architecture.
• Participate intechnical analysis, operation, integration, and user support efforts as needed.
• Provides Subject Matter Expertise in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of COTS/GOTS software and development tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required. 7-10 years of related work experience. Education may be used in-lieu of experience.
• U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI level security clearance is required.
• A DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved certification is required(e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP).
• Experience with sensors and sensor grid architecture.
• Extensive experience with Linux environments.
• Experience with data modeling, hygiene, and enrichment services and tools.
• Experience with Kafka (Apache or Confluent) as a key components in a streaming architecture.
• Experience working withautomation and representing data pipelines as code.
• Working knowledge of Python, Java, and SQL.
• Knowledge of AGILE and ITIL methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability, is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and compressed time constraints as a member of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Skills:

• Good understanding of performance monitoring and hardware limitations of enterprise level servers, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Experience supporting DevSecOps, Analytics, Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) including security monitoring and incident management.
• Familiarity with automation tools and technologies.
• Experience with creating and managing data pipelines from inception through end-of-life.
