Systems Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Automate updates of systems (applications, VMs, and, containers)
• Maintain applications and servers
• Implement corporate security policies

Required background:

• Scripting and automation experience, including Bash, Python, Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, REST APIs, etc.

• Ability to effectively debug hard problems with limited information
• Computer Science Degree or equivalent
• Understanding of application-relevant security concepts, including certificates, VPNs,  and encryption
• Working experience administering systems
• Understanding of network connectivity concepts, including IP address allocation, tunneling, L2/L3, firewalls, and proxies
• Experience with operating and interacting with:
• Linux
• VMware vCenter/ESX
• Clouds: AWS, GCP, Azure, …
• Kubernetes
• Jenkins
• Git
• Access and identity systems (SSO, LDAP, VPN, …)

Nice-to-have:

• Administer cloud-based productivity tools
• Interact directly with employees to provision and resolve access and usage issues
• Experience with operating and interacting with
• File servers and NAS
• Physical servers
• Databases
• Backup and disaster recovery systems
