Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Model and Simulation Integration Engineer.
The M&S Integration Engineer will support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction).
This position is in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities and areas of support include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide strategic planning support to accomplish the agency's Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities including serving as the CDI Increment Manager when assigned. CDI activities facilitate integration of incremental capability deliveries providing risk reduction to GT execution and promoting GT readiness.
• Act as a liaison between DES Product team, DES M&S Integration and HW/CS team and test event planners, testers, and other stakeholders to include element POCs.
• Coordinate scheduling of test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.) to support Missile Defense System-level test events and/or CDI testing and ensure resources allocation via the Resource Management Scheduling Tool (RMST).
• Collect and consolidate truth stimulation framework (FW) capabilities needed by MDS stakeholders.
• Coordinate the translation of these needed capabilities into Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) implementation strategies, development schedules, and test plans.
• Capture M&S engineering criteria needed to burn down simulation risk between the FW and element M&S.
• Must be willing to support travel (10% - 20%) to coordinate/monitor test support, support technical interchange meetings, and test coordination and planning meetings.
• Must be willing to support occasional off-nominal work hours (nights / weekends).
Job Requirements
Experience Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in STEM, a related field or equivalent experience and 8 years' experience
o The successful candidate will enjoy working in a technically challenging environment with simulation framework developers; test event integration personnel; data analysts; and event planners, testers, and other stakeholders.
o Candidate must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction and experienced in staff coordination.
o Must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work as a team player.
o Must be able to work comfortably and effectively with team members as well as MDS Element contacts, test stakeholders and other DOD contractors.
o Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred
o A good understanding of overall MDS infrastructure and Element capabilities
o Experience leading integrated system test events
o Familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; MDS Element configurations and operations; and DOD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT)
o Active Secret clearance
