The Space Systems Architect Division works with elements across the Space Systems Integration Office and SSC Chief Information Office to provide cross-program integration, engineering, and architecting support for Space Systems Command and the United States Space Force. The Cyber Architectures & Integration team is passionate about cyberspace, including cybersecurity, program protection, cryptography, key management, data governance & architecting; information technology, software, and resilient design for space systems. The Systems Director within the Cyber Architectures & Integration team will be responsible for leading support to the SSC Chief Information Office for cybersecurity and related activities.
Work Model: Telework of up to 1 day a week is possible depending on the needs of the customer.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Partnering with the SSC/CIO Cybersecurity Sector Chief and Chief of Staff
  • Executing support and guiding enterprise cybersecurity and related projects within the SSC/CIO
  • Communicating and coordinating progress on projects across the breadth of the space community including the US Space Force, other DoD organizations and Intelligence Community agencies
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with government, Aerospace, other FFRDC and contractor support personnel
  • Establish team objectives, goals, and focus areas aligned with customer objectives
  • Report on the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports
  • Build and maintain a highly capable and diverse workforce through hiring, staff performance evaluations, career development, and mentoring

What You Need to Be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science or other applicable degree
  • Typically, 12 years of relevant professional experience in scientific or engineering positions
  • Significant leadership experience in customer-facing engineering and technical roles
  • Understanding and experience with DoD Cybersecurity policies and implementation within National Security Systems
  • Willing to travel periodically, as needed
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Accredited degree or certificate in information systems security or equivalent program
  • Experience with diverse space systems and missions
  • Previous direct support or leadership in executing system authorization processes
  • Experience executing projects related to program protection and supply chain risk management
  • Experience with development of enterprise architectures, or the architecting and design of significant cybersecurity capabilities
  • Previous experience in development of cryptographic concepts and technologies
  • Experience assembling and leveraging engineering teams to provide subject matter expertise and customer support; and an understanding of the breadth and depth of Aerospace ETG technical capabilities and resources
  • Previous experience building, managing, and leading a team to produce significant accomplishments
