Systems Engineer

Our 800-person IT team is seeking a skilled developer to work on interfaces between Montefiore Health System and hundreds of external companies. This team's work is celebrated for building and managing the software that saves our health system millions of dollars each year.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and improve code
• Work with external clients to identify issues and create solutions
• Collect and document business requirements
• Work within defined deliverables, estimates, and schedules
• Work with communications protocols (FTP, SFTP, and others) to develop integration solutions
• Collaborate with other teams in design, development, test, life-cycle support & problem determination
• Participate in on-call rotation

Requirements include:

• At least 2 years of experience as an object-oriented programmer in an enterprise environment
• Knowledge of Java
• Skilled in working with Tibco (formerly IBI) iWay Service Manager)
• Knowledge of SDLC or other structured methodology
• Solid SQL including relational database design
• Knowledge of testing methodologies
• Familiar with FTP, SFTP, and other communication processes
• Knowledge of PGP encryption
• Familiar with Eclipse IDE and Source Control system (CVS or Subversion)
• Strong UNIX and shell scripting skills
• Familiar with production support
