Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron Software Services is seeking Systems Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)/Sentinel program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). We invite you to join our team for this phenomenal opportunity in designing the future ground leg of the U.S.'s nuclear deterrent!

The selected candidates for these positions will execute systems engineering and configuration management activities, including management, organization, and verification of complex design requirements, within a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment for Department of Defense (DOD) projects and United States Air Force (USAF) projects. The Systems Engineers play a critical role in the delivery of the Requirements Management and MBSE program work products and designs, as well as for coordination of the scope and integration of work with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidates must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

Key Duties:

  • Execute systems engineering work assignments concerned with specialized unique engineering requirements in a global business unit.
  • Explore various subject areas and disciplines and develop novel concepts, approaches, and solutions.
  • Interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and the client in the management and verification of the facility requirements.
  • Develop key systems engineering documents.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment with limited oversight.
  • Support defining facility/system design requirements.
  • Develop key engineering documents related to systems engineering, design change management, design interface control, and equipment configuration packages.
  • Execute requirements verification and acceptance criteria evaluations.
  • Engage with the customer to ensure alignment of delivery and design.
  • Enhance communication opportunities.
  • Develop design configuration packages for configuration control and change management.
  • Execute system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specifications, and requirements flow down and traceability.
  • Execute impact analyses for proposed requirement changes.
  • Support maintaining the MBSE and Configuration Management within the program.
  • Support the implementation and testing and verification plans for the program that is supportive of the overall execution strategy.
  • Utilize the customer-selected systems engineering software package with which to implement delivery.
  • Capture, scrutinize, and deconflict requirements across stakeholders and subsequently assure delivery of hierarchical requirements management documents.
  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
  • Experience executing systems engineering with IBM Rationale DOORS, CAMEO, or other systems engineering or similar type software packages.
  • Experience with SE implementation on projects executed for DOD, or other similar government agencies.
  • Junior-Level:
    • Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited course of study and 3 or more years of relevant experience.
