Summary of the role:
Are you the next Systems Engineer we are looking for?
- You will be part of the Hospitality Technology Operations organization supporting Hospitality proprietary software.
- You will work with our Systems Engineering team in the deployment and ongoing management of servers, network and storage services in virtualized high-availability Public and Private datacenter environments.
- You will contribute on technical direction for enterprise class solutions which typically call for active redundancy, dynamic failover, high availability, disaster recovery and other critical functionalities.
- You will also contribute in the build, orchestration and deployment of containerization in our private and public cloud environments.
- You will have access to leading tools, technologies and the latest training on our platforms.
- You will also work collaboratively in and with virtual teams.
In this role you'll:
- Responsible for RedHat Enterprise Linux system administration.
- Implement and troubleshoot RedHat Linux and Oracle systems.
- Leverage orchestration and management tools to maintain system health and performance.
- Responsible for server virtualization and related technology with a focus on high availability, performance and scalability of architectures.
- Builds Infrastructure as Code for consistent, efficient and secure delivery of virtualized resources.
- Deploy, secure, and maintain containerized Private & Public Cloud Kubernetes platforms.
- Define processes around compute scaling, traffic flow, and resource allocation within the cluster.
- Enforce network policies and RBAC restrictions assuming best practices of least privilege.
- Works closely with other Technology Operations teams.
- Provide occasional after-hour and weekend maintenance/support as required.
- Participates in scheduled on-call rotation for internal and customer escalations.

- Maintain data within CMDB as it applies to infrastructure
- Create/maintain documentation related to infrastructure in current environments and new while providing training.
About the ideal candidate:
- Education:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5+ years of demonstrated advanced Server, Network and Storage experience.
- Linux, Azure, VCP, VMWare, MCSE certifications a plus.
- Relevant Work Experience:
- 5 years Red Hat Enterprise Linux server advanced administration experience including advanced networking concepts such as QoS, vlan, trunking.
- 2 years relevant experience in Scripting and Orchestration technologies such as PowerShell, Chef, Centrify, Rancher
- Working knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Cisco UCS, Dell, IBM, and CommVault appliance experience desired
- Working knowledge of Private and Public Cloud hosting implementations.
- Skills:
- Computing: Linux administration, Scripting (Powershell, Bash), storage hardware architectures, distributed file systems, data storage applications, data replication technologies, DNS, client-side IP networking
- Language: English
- Specific Knowledge: Cisco UCS platform, Dell PowerEdge platform
- Other:
- Must have creative thinking skills, have the ability to solve complex problems, have peripheral vision to recognize collateral impact, and is expected to contribute to thought leadership within the Technical Operations org.
- Strong troubleshooting, research, and communications skills are a must.
- Ethical conduct is required as this position is privy to sensitive and confidential data.
- Must be able to work within the confines of an ITIL style change management system.
