Systems Engineer

The AvantGarde, LLC (AG) System Engineer is responsible for design and implementation of the key functionality of AG's proprietary WMO and HR and Financial Tracker systems, playing a key role in collecting and defining the products and technical requirements and producing documentation. In addition, the Engineer plays a key role in the Human Capital and OD practice by providing technical leadership, customer service support (including help desk) and delivering to the consulting team in deployment of WMO and HR Tracker working closely in alignment with the consulting team and the PM and or Senior PM overseeing the human capital and OD project work.

The WORK

• Serve in a technical project lead (TPL) role for WMO and HR and Financial Tracker - three agile software platforms used to support deployment of the HR and human capital/OD practice areas and AG financial operations. TPL duties include, but are not limited to, attending key project leadership meetings with the PM and consulting team, leading technical requirements gathering for changes in systems per client ask, executing key development changes to WMO and HR Tracker, providing leadership to technical team assignment (programmers), contributing to project plan milestones and monthly reports, and serving in other TPL roles as assigned by the HC/OD PM.
• Develop the workflow, functionality, and interface for batch entry of project data into the system.
• Develop the workflow and functionality for designing employee and customer surveys.
• Develop the workflow, functionality, and interface for conducting predictive modeling of the enterprise workforce management.
• Use Agile with Scrum methodology to architect, build, and deploy tool releases.
• Provide status to the test lead on all test activities.
• Work closely with the Corporate Administrator to coordinate maintaining AG's Internal Competency and Skill Assessment Tool (within WMO) by sending the questionnaire to new employees when they are hired and existing employees annually, and by removing terminated employees from the database.
• Develop code to meet requirements in an agile environment, coordinating with users to understand their needs and the code's acceptance criteria.
• Follow established software development processes and develop code that satisfies 508 compliance standards.
• Provide other project support as needed to the PM team working in deployment of WMO or HR Tracker.

Skills & Requirements

The REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and four years of software testing experience or the equivalent combination of education, training experience is required.
• Experience developing automated testing scripts that employ Java and JQuery using Cucumber JVM.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hands on agile development, programming required
• Good communication skills to be able to interface with project team and support help desk on trackers that are customer facing.
• Experience using Eclipse Platform for automated testing.
• Familiarity with SQL, creating SQL scripts, 508 Testing, and Compliance tool NVDA or JAWS.
• Green card holder allowed with clearance of thorough background check.
• Ability to work independently to ensure full test coverage of the assigned test subset.
• Excellent organizational skills in order to multi task across multiple project demands required.
