Responsibilities

AMS is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Enterprise Program in San Antonio, TX. The Systems Engineer will work with designated Government leads and AF BluSCI Engineering and Development Team network and system engineers to ensure compliance with Enterprise network and system standards. They will develop technical solutions, guidance, and expertise for a variety of software and hardware tasks, including installation, removal, maintenance, configuration management, and restoration on a wide variety of computer platforms. These computer platforms include but are not limited to: MS Active Directory (AD), MS Exchange, Virtual Environment (ESXi/Nutanix), Storage (SAN/NAS/DAS), Enterprise Backup (Avamar/HYCU), End Point-Security Tools, Patch Management Tools (MECM), Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA), Network Security Auditing Tools and IA security tools.

Provides technical baseline for the configuration of servers at each global and regional site, using industry best practice approaches and technology lifecycle planning.

• Provide systems engineering development and support services for a highly virtualized Enterprise data center; physical servers exist at each Enterprise data center for virtual hosting, management, and other services.
• Develop & use build guides and appropriate documentation IAW the CCMP for deployment and administration of system assets, configuration, performance, and security through the use of systems administration toolsets and functions.
• Direct and support the setup, planning, and implementation of the system management environment to support client deployments, security patch management and schedules, application deployments, automation scripts, inventory reporting, and all other aspects of the systems management environment at the respective Enterprise data center or OL to include future expansion and increase in growth.
• Analyzes system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostic tests on operating system and hardware to detect problems. Evaluate and install software during various phases of system life cycle.
• Analyze existing AF Enterprise Systems infrastructure and make recommendations and/or provide engineered solution for optimization. Review and make recommendations for all assigned Change Requests.
• Maintain and continuously improve upon deep technical expertise through training, vendor engagements and constant exposure to the evolving IT marketplace.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field - OR Equivalent direct related experience and Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Active Top Secret SCI Clearance
• IAT II
• CompTIA Security+ CE
