Systems Engineer

This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD

• Candidate will provide support to the Program Office performing analyses and executing projects involving engineering, test, training, production, and sustainment issues
• Candidates will perform a wide variety of tasks for the government customer to include requirements analysis and traceability, problem/deficiency reporting, analysis, and tracking, ECP tracking, researching technical solutions to problems/deficiencies noted in test, analyses of alternatives, develop/refine recommended course(s) of action, and recommended issue resolution
• Candidates will perform a wide variety of tasks for the government customer to include review/analysis of maintenance/test data and training curriculum review of unmanned aviation systems.
• Candidate will interface with a variety of technical and program personnel

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of twelve (12) years of demonstrated experience in DoD Aviation, Test and Engineering, and/or Program Management/Support; Bachelor's Degree in progress with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in DoD Aviation, Test and Engineering, and/or Program Management/Support
• Demonstrated experience as a System Engineer, Test Engineer, and/or Program Manager preferred
• Perform research, provide analysis, document findings and determinations and provide associated recommendations required
• Familiarity with DoD aviation development, production, sustainment, and/or test preferred
• Knowledge of U.S. Government, DoD, and/or USN correspondence development practices and the ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools such as Word, Power Point and Excel required
• Familiarity with MS Project required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multitasking team environment
• Demonstrated experience at NAVAIR preferred
• Familiarity with DoD finance processes and procedures preferred
• Military aviation (manned or unmanned) systems experience preferred
