Job Description

What does a great Systems Engineer do?

A Systems Engineer is someone who can reliably deploy applications, troubleshoot, monitor alerts in a Linux & Windows environment.

You can look forward to:

  • The Systems Engineer will be working closely with software development teams to configure and deploy applications.
  • Provide technical consulting to internal client implementation groups and software teams on various technical integration points (load balancing, web interface, API, batch processing, file transmission)
  • The Systems Engineer will also engage in troubleshooting technical issues related to client access, onboarding, data retrieval or other client issues. On-call support as required.
  • Manage SSL certificate creation, renewals, and deployments.
  • Obtaining and maintaining an in-depth understanding of proprietary technology and its underlying architecture
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences and drive problems to resolution.
  • Determine long-term resolution to repeatable problems, including automation, monitoring & alerting, and process improvement.
  • Assisting in technical platform analysis that will identify requirements related to people, processes, and technology.
  • Assist in application deployments using CI/CD tools & processes.
  • Analyze business requirements and transform them into technical actions, while tracking implementation milestones all the way to production

What you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development or system engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience troubleshooting full-stack deployment and configuration issues
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Able to work flex shifts (primary US business hours, some after-hours required for deployments or maintenance)

What would be great to have:

  • SQL Server/MYSQL/Mongo DB
  • Conceptual knowledge of networking, load balancing, and firewalls
  • Scripting (Ansible, bash, powershell)
  • Apache/Tomcat
