About the role:

UKG is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer capable of integrating into a team responsible for the operation of our colocation-based infrastructure. This position requires hands-on knowledge of remotely supporting hardware and software platforms. The team utilizes several tools for managing and monitoring systems in our engineering, pre-production and production environments. The role includes project work to continually improve the infrastructure, providing opportunities for innovation of new solutions. We believe that a product is only as good as the people behind it. Whether it's platform development, technology maintenance, client support, product management, sales or operations, all of our employees see the direct impact of their work.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on hardware and software components of the environment• Support Windows and Linux servers within a VMWare environment• Assess and make recommendations for changes and enhancements to the existing platforms and processes• Research innovative technologies to satisfy business requirements• Document and maintain technology policies, standards, procedures, and educational materials• Automate routine tasks where possible• Deploy database servers and provide troubleshooting assistance• Coordinate with third party providers in support of the environment• Participate in regular on-call rotations and after hours planned and unplanned maintenance activity

Qualifications

About the role:

Basic Qualifications:• Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience• Hands on experience supporting server hardware in a production environment• Experience or knowledge with Windows server, Linux, TCP/IP, monitoring tools (System Center, PRTG, etc.)• Knowledge or experience in VMware• Experience with Microsoft IIS administration• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, operation of a database environment

Preferred Qualifications:• Knowledge or experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity• Experience working with and coordinating with third party providers• Experience supporting Cisco network devices• MacOS experience including Mac virtualization• VMware or Cisco Certifications, a plus
