Systems Engineer
Job Description
LS Technologies, LLC is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, results-oriented Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will have experience with the FAA. Attention to detail and ability to comprehend as well as speak to diverse audience compiled of technical and non-technical individuals.
Responsibilities
- Support concept of operations development, technical framework, and business processes necessary to guide internal customers into cloud development lifecycle.
- Provide business strategy, solution development, implementation and migration planning and execution, and integration into the operational environment.
- Provides technical leadership and applies comprehensive system engineering principles to support the investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation of NAS equipment and procedures, particularly the integration and safety assessment of the ATC system.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analysis reports, and other technical and safety documentation.
- May analyze, design, develop, implement, and test software related to engineering or functional requirements of NAS and associated support systems.
- Drafts system/safety project plans, justifications, guidelines, and controls.
- Recommends development and design changes to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Systems engineers with appropriate expertise will support all aspects of FAA safety management activities involving measures to mitigate hazards or reduce risks to an acceptable level, verification that mitigation measures are incorporated into product design and implementation, and assessment of residual risk and any other safety related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience Systems Engineer experience.
- Preferred certifications in air traffic operations, in any capacity.
- Air traffic operations experience, and ATM processes and procedures, and airline operations preferred.
- Some Cloud Environment experience.
- Defining, developing, and refining system requirements, documenting the requirements in detailed specifications from which programs will be developed and/or procured, and from which hardware will be developed and/or procured.
- Recommends development and design changes to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Experience working as a Federal Government contractor- FAA experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education
- BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering.
