Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering support to Improved Turbine Engine (ITE) Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) supporting the development of the ITE and its integration and testing on the H-60M, AH-64E, Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) prototypes, and other aviation platforms.
• Ensure the traceability of requirements from ITE Capability Description Document and platform performance specifications through the ITE functional and allocated baseline specifications utilizing IBM Rational DOORS® database.
• Conduct requirements analysis to ensure correct allocation and alignment of requirements across the specification tree.
• Review technical documentation, verification plans and reports to ensure fulfillment of all ITE requirements.
• Support requirement trade studies to support resolution of emerging issues during ITE integration, verification, and validation events.
• Support execution of System Verification Review, Technical Risk Assessments, and other technical reviews.
• Assist ITE IPTs in identifying program risks, issues, and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and technical performance; and ensuring that effective mitigation strategies are developed.
• Coordinate the processing of changes to system requirements, configuration documents, or contract requirements through the appropriate overarching ITE governing processes.
• Support development of Systems Engineering Plan, contract requirement package, and other program milestone documentation for IAW DoD and Army policies, regulations, and instructions for a Major Defense Acquisition Program.
• Coordinate the review, adjudication, and staffing of technical and programmatic documentation.
• Provide status of SE efforts to program Leadership as required
Job Requirements
Experience and Technical Knowledge:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, or related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in technical field(s) related to acquisition.
• Experience with conducting requirements analysis, traceability, verification, and validation, with IBM Rational DOORS® requirements management tool.
• Working technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
• Experience with Project management and working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DoDI 5000.02.
• Knowledge of and experience with the development, airworthiness qualification, integration, system level qualification, reliability and maintainability, fielding, and sustainment of engines, engine subsystems, or LRUs for Army aircraft. Skills, Competencies and Abilities:
• Ability to manage complex development and engineering projects, work effectively with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Plans, organizes, and directs the work of teams or task forces conducting trade studies, technical projects, or problem resolution.
• Develop strong working relationships and rapport with subordinate, peer, and management personnel within the home organization and with contemporary organizations and contract partners.
• Ability to quickly grasp a broad range of technical topics in the mechanical, electrical, and software development disciplines.
• Experience using Microsoft Office program management tools, spreadsheets, and databases. Advanced skills in conducting requirements analysis utilizing requirements management tools such as DOORS.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw or Cameo Enterprise Architecture is desirable.
