Systems, Engineer

Your role in helping us shape the future:
Support an industry-leading Engineering team with your skills in supporting Linux-based applications, performance analytics, and developing and executing automated and manual test cases. You will take system specifications from paper to a fully functional system with the ability to do what the system was designed to do. Then, continue to support that system through its whole life cycle.
Are you up to the challenge?

• You are a self-starter, able to work with a team, and agile in your day-to-day priorities.
• You will demonstrate your ability to design, install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot Linux operating systems.
• Experience in developing supporting tools in Python.
• You will demonstrate your ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable managing, manipulating, and summarizing large quantities of data.
• Use performance analytics to track, aggregate, and visualize key performance indicators over time for different areas of the network.

Can you drive these processes?
Your responsibilities will include developing programs using Python, configuring Linux-Based applications, collecting and analyzing data, develop and execute performance, load, and stress scenarios and test cases. You will create and complete procedures; create and perform scripts; provide troubleshooting support for architecture, infrastructure, and network engineering teams on the servers you are responsible for. You will use troubleshooting procedures and technical information to identify the severity of incidents and carry out accordingly the resolution process; research issues that do not have a recognized solution and prepare a resolution process; maintain local documentation, which gets updated on all features of servers.
You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technologies.
• At least 5 years experience
• Experience in Software Development in the Networking Industry.
• Experience using Java/Python testing tools for finished code
• Strong software development experience in Python programming
• Expertise in Linux deployment, scripting and configuration, Multithreading, and Socket programming
• Expertise in TCP/IP communications stacks and optimizations
• Experience with ELK, Grafana data streaming, and software visualization
• Experience in analyzing and debugging code defects in the Production Environment.
• Extensive in a version control system such as GIT, SVN, CVS.
• Ability in designing test scenarios for software usability, running these tests, and preparing reports on the effectiveness and defects to the production team
• Experience in the complete software life cycle phases starting from Requirements capture, architecture, design, software development, and system testing.
• Ability to work autonomously and with small cross-functional teams
• Use Performance Analytics to track, aggregate, and visualize key performance indicators over time, rather than reporting on a point in time.
• This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

It would be nice if you had:

• Knowledge with automated Linux configuration systems such as Kickstart, Ansible or Puppet.
• Knowledge of how to configure MySQL and PostgreSQL and be able to setup replication, are a plus.
