Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer will be supporting multiple C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria compliant with engineering best practices and DoD directives and policies
• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables and their compliance with System Requirements Document (SRD), System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) and Statement of Work (SOW)
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify products based on hardware and software requirements/specifications
• Identify, evaluate, and propose best of breed products, materials, and manufacturing processes supported by detailed analysis of alternatives levied by cost, schedule, performance, and risk (including mitigation strategies)
• Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
• Establish plans, process, and how-to guides (e.g., production, testing, fielding, training, sustainment), train personnel, execute and manage efforts
• Maintain close coordination with vendor product managers and keep stakeholders apprised of product obsolescence forecasts and events
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and support to iGov departments, e.g., product sales, business development, logistics, production, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Required Experience & Skills:

• 4 years of experience architecting, engineering, or developing radio and computer network solutions, preferably in a tactical environment
• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
• Team player able to work collaboratively with and through others
• Astute observer with effective root cause identification and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of SEIT (Systems Engineering, Integration and Test) process
• Strong understanding of installation, maintenance, and operation of all forms of C4ISR equipment in fixed and mobile environments
• Forward looking with a holistic approach

  • TO 00-35D-54 – USAF Deficiency Reporting, Investigation, and Resolution
  • MIL-STD-46855A – Human Engineering Requirements for Military Systems, Equipment, and Facilities
  • MIL-STD-1472G – Design Criteria Standard for Human Engineering
• Radio Terminal Operator (RTO) or Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) experience
  • Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) certification a plus.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related discipline

Clearance Statement:

Must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
