Systems Engineer: Configuration Management
KBR is seeking a junior-level Configuration Manager to provide configuration management of information related to the development and fielding of major systems ensuring their successful acquisition and the success of the government customer. The Configuration Manager performs a vital systems engineering role by ensuring critical programmatic documentation is appropriately controlled and requests for change processes are adhered to safeguarding the program baseline for all stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Identify, assess, and incorporate new Configuration Items (CI) into existing customer furnished CI databases
- Manage the customer's CI in accordance with customer's configuration management process flow
- Generate and assist others in the generation of Requests for Change (RFCs)
- Review RFC technical responses for validity, content, and impact to the controlled technical baseline
- Provide technical assessments of RFC data, identifying potential risk and opportunities regarding requirement modifications or addition of new requirements
- Assist and advise other teammates with systems engineering related configuration control responsibilities
- Maintains and updates configuration and data management policies and procedures
- Advise and assist the customer on Configuration Management the implementation of process improvements
- Assist in the conduct of change control boards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM or other demonstrated relevant area of study with 1-2+ years of related experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with technical subject matter experts and upper-level management
- Ability to work within a customer environment under demanding conditions
- General experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Power Point, Word, and SharePoint
- Capable of working multiple tasks in parallel, under tight deadlines.
Clearance: TS/SCI required
