Systems Engineer (Hybrid)

Vestmark is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team.  The Vestmark Managed Services Team is a small team dedicated to the daily operation of the Vestmark Data Center. This is a great opportunity to experience a wide range of technologies as we strive to provide world class hosted services to our growing customer base. 

As a Systems Engineer, you will ensure that Vestmark delivers and continues to deliver a high performance and reliable service and be the primary problem solver for IT service issues. You will work on the next revision of our service whether it’s architecting, designing, contracting, re-engineering or implementing the next generation of our service. We are looking for someone with experience in production data centers who understands the critical nature of that business, and brings a high level of attention to detail to help us keep our services running smoothly and constantly improving. 

Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements gathering for infrastructure lifecycle that includes changes to existing VMware and AWS footprint, OS, VestmarkONE application, SQL version, and 3rd party software. 
• Install and configure infrastructure across the stack (hardware, network, firewall, applications, database, storage) and work as a team to deliver best in class financial software to internal and external clients. 
• Participate in end-to-end infrastructure readiness, monitoring, and security.
• Utilize and understand scripts written for IaC deployments to automate and facilitate integration between enterprise systems in and out of the cloud.
• Support the migration of applications to the cloud infrastructure and assist in the analysis, tuning, and re-architecture when necessary to ensure adherence to business requirements and milestones.
• Following, creating and optimizing process documentation and training others on learned processes.
• Contribute using Agile/Scrum framework.
• Participate in off hours maintenance, and escalations via on-call rotation.

Skills & Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years using Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server.
• 3+ years’ experience with server virtualization using VMware or other.
• 3+ years’ experience working in a production data center setting.
• 3+ years installing new and existing software on a virtual platform.
• 3+ years using systems tooling such as SCCM, and others.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of scripting experience (e.g. Powershell, Perl etc.)
• Installing and configuring Windows SQL.
• Understanding of Networking and SAN principles.
• Working knowledge of AWS, console, and related tools.
