SUMMARY

As a Systems Engineer, you will be a part of a diverse team with interdisciplinary experience responsible for Requirements, System Interfaces, and Test Planning for Firefly Products and subsystems. You will learn Firefly tools and processes while building an intimate familiarity with a key subsystem of a core Firefly product. Working with design engineers of all disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Propulsion, etc) across all stages in the lifecycle (Design, Manufacturing, Integration, & Test), you will be on the front-lines to ensure that our solutions are built and flown successfully.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain system-level diagrams, analysis models, schematics, interface control documents and performance budgets.
  • Serve as a focal point for subsystem development efforts, performing trades, facilitating decisions, integrating material for and presenting design reviews.
  • Develop test strategies, build test setups, and author test plans and procedures.
  • Embed with integration and test teams as surge capacity to support delivery schedules.
  • Write data processing scripts to support test data review.
  • Interpret test data and author Test/Analysis Reports, establishing rationale for requirement compliance.
  • Take ownership of engineering risks and change requests that impact your product/subsystem

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
  • Exceptional communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Working familiarity with programming languages (preferably C++ &/or Python).

Desired

  • Demonstrated experience in a design discipline (CAD, PCBA board/layout, FPGA, software) through to manufacturing/deployment to hardware and testing.
  • Experience performing system-level structural, thermal, aerodynamic, or dynamic (controls) simulation.
  • Strong experience with Python scripting for automated testing.
  • Experience defining software test cases.
  • Specialized coursework/projects in controls engineering.
  • Specialized coursework/projects in RF engineering, working with signal analyzers and waveform generators.
