POSITION OVERVIEW

Support the design and development of new products, components and features in prototype and pre-launch environments. Execute design, development and systems activity supporting sold programs in the launch environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work with other Product Engineers to design and develop products or product families per the product strategy & roadmap.
• Aid in the development of Product Line strategies, roadmaps and presentation material.
• Research and support new technology assimilation opportunities.
• Research and experiment as needed, to become a subject matter expert in your product or technology area.
• Maintain baseline test procedures for validation and quality assurance of finished components and products.
• Continuously improve specifications and requirements for product functionality and performance metrics.
• Support development of prototype Proof of Concept (POC) systems for trade shows & customers.
• Prior to hand-off to Launch Teams, make best efforts ensure new designs utilize parts, methods, and practices, are practical and realistic for series production.
• Interface as needed across all areas and organizations within Gentex to ensure feasibility & consensus.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Utilize your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in multiple complex projects.
• Be dependable, a problem solver, customer oriented, and a team player.
• Creativity and situational flexibility. You must be comfortable operating in a gray space, with minimal requirements and enjoy coloring outside the lines as needed.
• Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
• Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

WHAT TO BRING

• B.S. degree in Engineering related discipline i.e., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.

WHAT WILL HELP

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
