Under the direction of the Manager, IT, the Engineer II, Systems follows documented procedures to produce technical results, and researches, identifies, proposes, designs, and assists in implementing technical solutions for reported problems or project assigned tasks, in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT and business owners to translate business needs into technology requirements.
  • Collaborate with outside technical groups to identify potential technical solutions to business needs.
  • Conduct technical research and fact gathering to support root cause analysis of problems, issues, or tasks assigned.
  • Produce technical documentation for assigned tasks according to firm policies and procedures.
  • Research, document, and present potential technical solutions for reported problems or project assigned tasks.
  • Participate in identifying potential impacts or risks of the proposed technical solutions including recommendation of mitigation options.
  • Participate in the preparation of the requirements and technical documentation for assigned tasks.
  • Resolve problems using established guidelines and procedures (typically under the guidance of a more experienced engineer).
  • Design, develop, or configure systems to meet documented requirements related to project work.
  • Play a significant role in the implementation of technical solutions under the direction of senior engineers, manager or project manager.
  • Participate or take the lead in Vendor interactions as required or directed from project leader.
  • Perform system maintenance including application of security patches, system upgrades, hardware maintenance and or preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist in design, development and implementation of technical Prototypes or Proof of Concepts.
  • Create, follow and document technical testing plans to ensure negative impacts have been mitigated.
  • Follow and suggest improvements for QA and change management procedures.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or similar) or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
  • Proven experience as a business application related technical engineer in a corporate or consulting environment, with a minimum of 3+ years of job-related experience
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Vendor management experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, Product Owner or other Agile Certification(s)
  • Experience with business applications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Microsoft Power Platform, Workday, Azure DevOps or Freshservice
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively and to balance many projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to conceptualize data and the impact of changes in data on business processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and business acumen.

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate's unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $73,000 to $98,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
