Systems Engineer II (Human-Centered Design)

As a Systems Engineer II on the Customer Accommodations team focused on human-centered design, you will be intimately involved in the early development of our inflatable habitat and commercial space station. Your work will directly affect the design and operation of the vehicles used for people living and working in space.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Support the mechanical integration team which includes CAD management, vehicle configuration team, structures, mechanisms and soft goods

• Ensure the system level integration design meets program requirements
• Support major technical reviews, including design and test/launch readiness reviews
• Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities

Must-haves:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline and typically two (2) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Experience creating concepts, creating and generating visual solutions for design systems
• Experience with human factors and human-centered-design
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Excellent organizational, self-initiative, and communication skills
• Creative problem solver, able to offer visual solutions

Preferred:

• Technical Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly in human spaceflight programs
• Experience conducting HITL and human testing
• Virtual reality, graphic, or industrial design experience
• Experience with implementing human centered design principles into hardware design
• Knowledge of CAD software and comfort interfacing with it

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72
