Systems Engineer II (Requirements, Verification, and Certification)

Become part of our team developing the first independent commercial space station. This space station is based on our expandable LIFEโข habitat, serviced by Dream Chaserยฎ spaceplane, and will provide the facilities and services for commercial research, manufacturing and tourism.
As a Requirements, Verification and Certification Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible managing requirements, verification plans and certification plans for a subsystem. You will work closely with a design team to ensure the moving design is adequately captured, controlled, and reviewed by the rest of the program. You are accountable for the technical baseline of what will be built, tested, and verified. You will facilitate communication up, down, and across the program organization. Depending on the strengths of the candidate and specific needs of the program, tasking may include development of requirements, development of verification plans and linkage to procedures and processes, development of certification plans and approaches, management of review and input from cross-functional program teams, and managing and reporting progress against a plan.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support cross-functional discussions and reviews of requirements, verification, and certification plans
- Track progress against plan and report execution
- Communicate across program status, needs, updates, and design baselines
- Ensure the system requirements and plans align with the design and quality standards
- Ensure correct processes for review and approval are being followed
- Prepare and conduct technical reviews related to system requirements, verification, and certification
- Create memos and documentation summarizing status, plan, and inputs needed for forward work
- Manage and track JIRA tasks for your efforts
- Facilitate and support team efforts as needed to meet deadlines
Must-haves:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering related discipline and typically three (3) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience
- Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practice
- Experience with requirements management
- Experience with JIRA, IMS, or other task management software
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Working understanding of system engineering principles, requirements, verification, certification and associated processes applied throughout a program lifecycle
- Integration and test knowledge throughout the lifecycle (concept development, requirements definition, design, development, testing, and operations)
- Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with emphasizes in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
Preferred:
- Experience with human spaceflight
- Experience with configuration control processes
- Experience with requirements development and allocation
- Experience with verification planning and test or operations experience
- Advanced Experience with requirements management and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72
